Sales channels are one of the very important features of Shopify. We often mention the Shopify independent station (Online store) is the most important sales channel of Shopify. In addition to Shopify's independent station, sellers can use Shopify backend add sales channels to add Facebook, Pinterest, Amazon, eBay, Instagram, POS, and other sales channels to promote their goods.
This article summarizes the current sales channels supported by Shopify:
POS (Point of sale): offline physical shops, Shopify's special POS machine makes the offline payment more convenient.
Facebook: independent stores can sync their products to their Facebook page and sell them directly through the Shop tab (using Shopify's billing system)
Amazon: tracking and management of products on Amazon through the Shopify back office.
Buy button: By embedding a Buy button on your existing website or blog (including WordPress and Squarespace), customers can click on it and use the Shopify checkout system.
Pinterest: Sell Shopify products on Pinterest via Buyable pins.
Google shopping: synchronize Shopify shop-related information and products with Google Merchant Center to manage Google products in the Shopify back office.
Messenger: Customers can communicate with sellers by clicking on Message us on the online shop or Message on the Facebook page, and they can also receive automatic notifications about their orders in Messenger.
Instagram: Products are tagged via links to Instagram posts and customers can click on the links to go to the Shopify shop to make a purchase.
Considering the geographical location and payment method restrictions, domestic sellers can only use Online stores, Facebook, Amazon, Buy button, POS, Pinterest (with a Hong Kong account and registered Stripe premise), the rest are temporarily not supported in China
Adding Facebook sales channel settings
Considering that only Facebook, Amazon, Buy button, POS, Pinterest is currently available in China, I will focus on the most used Facebook channel settings (after the Shopify shop upload products)
1. Set the requirements for Facebook sales channels
1) The shop needs to list products for sale in a currency supported by Facebook. (CNY and USD are supported without any problems)
2) A Facebook page that fits your business is required. Firstly the Facebook account needs you to have an admin role on the page, secondly, the Facebook page needs to use a shopping template. Thirdly, the Facebook page needs to perform a posting operation. For a handy guide on how to create a Facebook page, see the following link for a handy guide on how to create a merchant page: https://www.facebook.com/business/learn/set-up-facebook-page
3) The email address for contacting customers must be valid (set in General - General Settings)
2. Set up Facebook sales channels
1) Click on the Shopify backend Add sales channel to find the "+" button next to Facebook to add.
(2) Connect the Facebook account you want to associate with Shopify products, and then go to the Facebook account. Click Connect account, enter your Facebook account information and follow the instructions.
3) Wait for Facebook to review the Shopify shop, which usually takes no less than 48 hours. You will receive an email and a notification from Shopify when Facebook has finished reviewing your store.
