A few days ago, Shopify hosted a Reunite online event and gave an update on its financial, retail, and shipping services.
Shopify announced that it will launch products and services such as Shopify Balance and Shop Pay Installments. One of these products, Shopify Balance, will go live in the US at the end of this year and will consist of a merchant account and card through which merchants can make payments, track payments and view cash flow.
The Shopify Balance Card is not a debit card in the traditional sense; it is available in both physical and online versions. Earnings generated through the Shopify shop can be transferred directly to the card and merchants can withdraw funds from the account via ATMs, as well as use the account on PC, mobile and more.
For merchants using Shopify Balance, Shopify also plans to offer them discounts on everyday expenses such as marketing and shipping.
Shop Pay Installments is a buy now, pay later option from Shopify, which will also go live in the US at the end of this year. Consumers can choose to pay in installments through the service, with Shopify offering the option to pay in four interest and fee-free installments.
In addition to this, Shopify has announced optimizations to its online shop functionality, the launch of its Local Delivery shipping service, and the Shopify Fulfillment Network logistics service is accepting applications from more merchants.
