As the niche grows, we can now start thinking about how to name your Shopify direct shop. A popular way to choose a name is to combine a part of your main keyword with a unique word or phrase.
For example, for the 'gadgets for men' niche, I could use the following name.
Gadget Zone
Gadgets
Epic Gadgets
And so on. However, you can use certain tools hands-on, without having to use your brain. Specifically, Shopify has a tool to help you choose a name. It's called simply " Business Name Generator".
Enter a selection of keywords for your niche and see what happens. If you like any of the options, then you can click on the arrow icon next to the given suggestion and then just use that name to build a Shopify shop.
But before we do that, it's a good idea to make sure that the name chosen for the shop is available for domain registration - Shopify's merchant name generator doesn't provide you with that information, so you'll have to go elsewhere to get it.
Namecheap is a good option; Namecheap is a domain name registrar, which means it can register domains on your behalf. However, we do not use it to register a domain name, but only to check that the name is available. So, enter the desired domain name in the field and see what happens. If .com is available, you will see the following.
Note; you should usually always get a .com domain name and not any cold domain extensions (like .net, .org or others). Now that you know the required domain name is available, you can go back to Shopify and start setting up your direct marketing shop.
