Shopify is indeed very easy to use, it is also a very powerful tool. For example, you can set up and launch your online shop in a weekend. But it can also take you days or even weeks to develop a customised solution to meet your needs.
I think Shopify allows you to do more with fewer clicks than competitors such as Volusion or BigCommerce. Content management systems such as WordPress or Magento are even worse in terms of ease of use.
I also found their backend intuitive and easy to use. Whenever I got stuck, all I had to do was check their tutorials or ask for support in their live chat - in most cases, support was helpful and quick to answer.
Templates and design
Shopify isn't short on templates, they usually look modern and professional. They are also responsive, which means they look good on any device. Sadly, they only offer a handful of free templates (about 10) - I wish they would offer more of them.
However, if you have the budget, you can buy one of the paid themes for between $140-180. Another option is to buy a theme from an external marketplace (such as Themeforest), where prices are usually lower (around $50).
Or, if you need a specific design, one can be developed specifically for you from one of the many Shopify experts.
When it comes to template customisation, Shopify gets it right. I found it very easy to personalise the shop templates. Using the theme editor menu, you can change the overall style of the park (e.g. colours, fonts or social media buttons).

With just a few clicks, they allow you to add, delete or even move sections up and down in a cooler way. The downside here is that you are limited to the available sections of the template.
